Join Concerteenies with your 0-2 year-olds for a musical morning featuring harpist Louise Thomson and Concerteenies creative practitioner Sarah Carroll.
This event is a unique opportunity to see inside our future home, Harmony Works, the Grade II-listed Canada House, which will house Harmony Works after its upcoming renovation.
This concert includes lullabies from around the world including ‘Sleep Lament’ from Palestine, ‘Musings on a Māori Lullaby’, ‘Qin Language’ and ‘All is Found’ from Frozen 2. With bubbles, percussion and scarves this is a great opportunity for you to enjoy live music, relax and sing alongside your little one!
Winner of the Harp Finals at the 2003 Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales Competition, and finalist in the 2005 London International Harp Competition, Louise Thomson has earned a reputation as a versatile and accomplished harpist, with an innovative and virtuosic approach that enables her to fully explore the instrument’s capabilities. Louise has performed regularly with Concerteenies, and performed our Musical Story Mixed at the 2022 World Harp Congress in collaboration with narrator Polly Ives. Louise takes great pride in her teaching, which includes posts at the Royal Northern College of Music, Chetham’s School of Music and Huddersfield University.
Sarah Carroll is a creative practitioner, vocalist and community musician specialising in early years music. Sarah regularly works with Concerteenies, Sheffield Music Hub, Opera North and the National Youth Choir, where she leads workshops, narrates Musical Stories, conducts choirs and more. Sarah also sings with Sheffield-based choir Sonority, and with the Sheffield Beatles Project.
Venue:
Canada House is buggy and wheelchair accessible via the entrance on Commercial Street. Canada House is not usually open to the public and will close for renovation later this year, but there is a functioning accessible toilet, nappy changing facilities and a buggy park area. The entrance to Canada House is on Commercial Street, next to the Fitzalan Square/Pods Forge tram stop. The nearest bus stop is on Haymarket and the closest car park is Q-Park Castlegate.
Times:
45-minute concerts at 10:15 and 11:30. Doors open 15 minutes before each performance.

Please book tickets for all attendees. There's no need to print your tickets, just show your QR code or give your name on the door. Refunds are available up to 7 days before the start of the event. Eventbrite’s fees are non-refundable. When adult tickets are sold out, the event is sold out.
