PLAY: Concerteenies presents The Duck With No Luck at Showroom Cinema

  • The Showroom Cinema Paternoster Row Sheffield (map)

Concerteenies and Showroom Cinema present a one-off screening of The Duck With No Luck, with a live introduction from narrator Polly Ives and bassoonist Eleanor Mills.

Concerteenies is currently touring the live Musical Story The Duck with No Luck.

Narrator Polly Ives, bassoonist Daria Phillips, pianist Annabelle Lawson combine new music, composed by award-winning Paul Rissmann, and digital animations by Victor Craven, with this much-loved children's book written by Jonathan Long, illustrated by Korky Paul and published by Oxford University Press. This is a perfect introduction to classical music, animation and storytelling.

‘When Dizzy the duck oversleeps and misses the flight South, he knows that he must, somehow, catch his friends up. Unfortunately, Dizzy doesn't have a good sense of direction. Can anyone help him on his way? Join him as he encounters a mischievous pigeon, a well-meaning parrot, and a hungry vulture… not to mention swampy jungles and a chase into space!’

Join us for a special one-off cinema screening of the film recorded at Sheffield’s City Hall. Narrator Polly live hosts this screening and teaches the audience the songs and actions. Bassoonist, Eleanor Mills brings live music up-close.

Join us in the bar from 10am for FREE craft activities and to buy a copy of the signed book.

Ideal for children aged 2-6 years and their families.

Showing lasts 45 minutes including the 17 minutes film.
