World of Music - 10am, 9th May | Indian Ragas!

  • Cutlery Works 73 – 101 Neepsend Lane Sheffield, England, S3 8AT United Kingdom (map)

INDIAN RAGAS!

Ford Collier performs music inspired by Indian ragas with a contemporary twist. Dance to the catchy tabla drumming rhythms, join in with a simple Sa Re Ga melody and relax with a soundscape of gongs, chimes, Shruti box and the kanjira. Why not stay at Cutlery Works and visit MaBa for some delicious Indian home-cooking from Gujarat?

With songs, dancing, listening as well as bubbles, percussion, props and informal introductions, this is a fun and informal gig for adults and their 0-5 year-old children.

Ford Collier is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and performer of folk music who specialises in weaving influences from diverse traditions into his music. Since starting his music career in his teens, he has performed at festivals including Glastonbury, regularly toured the UK, released four studio albums with his two bands, The Drystones and Mishra, and received a nomination for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk award. https://www.fordcolliermusic.com
