Our Breastfeeding Friendly Award in Sheffield is here

Concerteenies’ music events have always been a welcoming and relaxed environment for breastfeeding.

Now, we’ve made it official! We’re proud to say we’ve been given a Breastfeeding Friendly Award from the Breastfeeding in Sheffield community.

Concerteenies is now a Breastfeeding Friendly Award holder, recognising spaces that offer a good level of support for breastfeeding

What is the Breastfeeding Friendly Award?

The award is part of a national Breastfeeding Welcome scheme.
It aims to empower mothers on their breastfeeding journey and to identify public spaces in Sheffield that offer good facilities and support for breastfeeding mothers.

You can see a map of public venues and employers which are signed up to the scheme here

How is Concerteenies breastfeeding friendly?
We are happy to support breastfeeding in Sheffield by providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for breastfeeding parents at our events and activities.
We will respond sensitively and appropriately if negative comments are made about a breastfeeding parent.
Our staff are aware of our policies and supportive of breastfeeding.
We will display the Breastfeeding Friendly Award signage on our website and review our status every three years.
At all of our events, we also aim to provide buggy parking or space for pushchairs as well as baby-changing facilities.

How does this make a difference to parents?

Attending music events with a baby or toddler can feel daunting at first!
Concerteenies was launched to give grown-ups and their children access to live, professional music experiences.
So we know how important it is to remove any barriers that stand in the way of parents feeling able to attend.
Being breastfeeding-friendly has always been part of this ethos, and it’s something we are delighted to shout out with this new award.

Concerteenies runs a wide range of musical events and activities for babies, toddlers and young children
