Ryedale Festival 2025: Concerteenies joins in bringing world-class music to Yorkshire
A Concerteenies’ session at Ryedale Festival 2023
We’re beyond proud to be part of a festival bringing world-class musicians to the north - our home.
The Ryedale Festival attracts the very finest performers, from right around the world, to Yorkshire each year.
This July, Concerteenies is part of the programme, for the third year running.
We are joining some big names and inspirational musicians, such as pioneering saxophonist Jess Gillam, Opera North, pianist Steven Hough, Barnsley folk star Kate Rusby. You may also recognise previous Concerteenies’ musicians Roderick Williams, Donald Grant and the Aquarelle Quartet in the line-up.
The roll call of top UK musicians taking part is sensational.
At the festival, we will provide two concerts for babies and two Musical Stories in Helmsley and Malton performed by inspirational musicians Annabelle Lawson (piano) and Jack McNeill (clarinets) and Polly Ives (narrator/ presenter).
Many of the festival’s events explore music, nature and the calming sensation of home.
And the surrounding Yorkshire countryside will be the perfect backdrop to charming Musical Stories The Big Dreaming and Mouse and Bear.
These concerts include music by our long-standing collaborator, composer Paul Rissmann, who takes Michael Rosen and Kev Payne’s fantastic works from the page to the stage.
The Concerteenies team at Ryedale Festival 2023
His moving music brings a brave mouse’s journey and a bear cub’s heartwarming tale to life with beautiful finesse.
We are also bringing concerts for the very youngest audiences - babies - to Malton.
Our Concerteenies for Babies sessions will relax and reinvigorate grown-ups, while providing a welcoming environment and opportunities for bonding through bespoke musical activities.
Jack, Polly and creative practitioner Sarah Carroll will share lullabies and sound-healing percussion, from gongs to koshi chimes.
Our events also feature music by Debussy, Elena Kats-Chernin and Howard Skempton.
